On Wednesday 18th August, the Year 9 /10 students, Mrs Clarke and Mr Vooght-Simpson visited the FQM mine.
A huge thank you to Brad, Nick, Dave and Tim for giving their time and sharing their wealth of knowledge. Also, thank you to Greg for transporting us around for the day…Sorry about the mud! Finally, to Lara, thank you for organising a great day, and for feeding us so well and ensuring that we had all of the correct PPE for the visit. The day gave a real insight into the mines operations, the future for the mine and what pathways were open to students should they choose a career in mining. Several of the students came away seriously considering mining as a future career.
We look forward to visiting again in the near future.
